Dear Sir:
   Reference is amde to your request for information to Revolutionary War soldiers, Daniel Harris, born 1743 and died in 1828 and his son, Robert, born in 1766 and died in 1826, both born in Preston, Connecticut.
   The data which follow were obtained from papers on file in pension claim, W.10076, based on the Revolutionary War service of Robert Harris.
   He was born December 12, 1766, in Preston, Connecticut, and was the son of Daniel Harris.  The name of the mother of Robert Harris is not given.
   While living in Preston, Connecticut, Robert Harris enlisted in March, 1782 and served one year as matross in Captain Benjamin Durkee's company in Colonel Samuel McClellan's Connecticut regiment.
   In 1819, Robert Harris was living in Switzerland County, Indiana.
   He died July 22, 1826, in Switzerland County, Indiana.
   He married February 15, 1787, Lucretia Kennedy of Voluntown, Connecticut, where she was born April 28, 1773. When he married, Robert Harris lived in Preston, Connecticut.
   Robert HArris stated that he and his father and Daniel (surname not given but he was probably Robert's brother) went to Kortright in 1786 to clear land there and that he and his wife, Lucretia moved to Kortright about 1788.
   As the widow of Robert Harris, Lucretia Harris was allowed pension on her application executed August 26, 1839, while she was living in Switzerland County, Indiana. In 1844 she was living in Posey Township, Switzerland County, Indiana, and stated she had lived there for the past twenty-six years and before that time she lived in New York State.
Robert and Lucretia Harris had the following children:
Lucretia Harris of Kortright, New York, born October 23, 1789, died November 28, 1789, in Kortright.
Dorothy Harris born April 15, 1791.
Robert Harris of Kortright born May 5, 1791.
Alice Harris born June 16, 1795.
Daniel Kennedy Harris born December 12, 1797, resident of Allensville, Indiana in 1841.
James Hiram Harris born March 31, 1800, died October 29, 1818.
Jacob Rude Harris born May 20, 1802.
Lucretia Whipple Harris born March 5, 1804.
Cyntha Lydia Hill Harris born April 14, 1806.
Fanny Mariah Harris born May 11, 1806.
Josiah John Nelson Harris born March 13, 1811.
Mary Zilphia Anny Harris born June 1, 1813 in Franklin (state not given) and died August 18, 1815.
Wesley Harris born March 12, 1818, in Posey, Indiana.

Jacob R. Harris of Switzerland County, Indiana and Girtrude H. Scott of the same place married January 5, 1826.
Salem Pocock and Fanny M. Harris married August 25, 182- (illegible).
Nelson Harris and Ann Hothkiss both of Cotton Township, Switzerland County, Indiana, married November 14, 1833.
Jonathan Cunningham and Syntha Harris of Posey Township, Switzerland County, Indiana, married July 30, 1836.
Cornelius S. Harris died December 29, 1827, consort of Lucretia Harris.
   In 1821, Daniel Harris, father of the Revolutionary War soldier, Robert Harris, was living in Harpersfield, Delaware County, New York, and stated that he served in the Revolution as steward with the Connecticut troops in the same company with his son, Robert.
   There is no claim for pension on file on account of the Revolutionary War service of Daniel Harris who was the father of Robert Harris, born in 1766.
   In 1821, one James Harris was living in Ross Township, Greene County, Ohio, relationship not shown.
   There are no further data relative to family.
